A career civil servant, she worked for 28 years in the government, reaching the level of an Additional Secretary in the Department of Telecom. Before taking voluntary retirement to pursue her passion to grow organic food, she held several portfolios ranging from policy making to implementation to operations. As Executive Director of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, she got an opportunity to interact with NGOs, Farmer Groups, Milk Farmers, and Micro Finance Institutions the seeds of her rst thoughts of creating an organization in rural India were sown. Her experience in handling large projects combined with her passion for plants and nature led to her founding Organika Farms- a start-up with the ambition to change the way our food is grown- one farm at a time.
